Why does it seem like the holidays practically guarantees family strife? For years my brothers and I have marveled at how morose and depressed some members of our family become instead of enjoying the season.
Do the mere mention of Thanksgiving and Christmas conjure up memories of empty stockings and crappy gifts? Do the holiday TV specials link up to the brain to equal holiday disgust? I have LOVED every bad Christmas TV special ever made. I loved Andy Williams, Perry Como and all of the others that have come down the pike. Call me a sap, that kind of stuff is like candy to me. What the hay!
What would it take for people to enjoy being with each other and slow it down a bit? Taking the time to be thankful for what you do have instead of always viewing the world as an enemy?
I don't know, I'll go back to "It's a Wonderful Life" and "White Christmas", they make me feel good. Keep the unhappiness to yourself, or take a trip somewhere other than near me!
